When I first started subbing, I remember always hoping I'd get assigned to Rio Hondo, where Linda was principal. I was so fortunate to work for her a few years later at the district office. She was a wonderful colleague, leader, mentor, and friend. I was so sorry to learn of her passing and wanted to be sure I left some good words for this amazing lady.

Linda was pure joy. My high school days were filled with her smiles.
I will always remember you and your wonderful laughter.

The first time I went to Linda and John's home was the night that my dog, Henry, got loose. I was new to the neighborhood. I'd left him in the backyard while I went to a meeting at church. I asked them if they'd seen him and they offered to walk the neighborhood and help me look for him. It was after dark and they walked and called for him with me for at least an hour . They were so kind and compassionate to me, a stranger. I've never forgotten their kindness. They have been wonderful neighbors these past 10 years. Linda is sorely missed.
