Susan 28th June 2016

I was so very fortunate to have Linda enter my life at the perfect time. She was my children’s Principal at Alameda. When I took on the PTA Presidency there, Linda encouraged me to get my teaching degree. The week after I signed my DUSD contract to teach at E.W.Ward, Linda was transferred from Alameda to Ward. How lucky could I be! She had a wonderful sense of humor and laughed at my foibles teaching Special Education, and then kindergarten. (Talk about a SNAFU! Even I didn’t know its actual definition until I asked my 5th grade RSP boys to look it up and share it aloud!) She was a good friend, both in and out of school settings. I will miss the way she rolled her eyes as we shared private jokes in our YMCA morning class and the insight she brought as we discussed books in Literati, our monthly book club. Last year, Linda honored my twins when she nominated them for the DHS Wall of Fame. She has and always will hold a special place in my family’s heart.
